Annual General Meeting

The Union holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) every year. In this meeting, amongst other things, our Officer Trustees deliver their annual reports, the Union's financial accounts are received, and any policy is voted upon.

Any member of the Union may attend the AGM, and vote upon any policy within that meeting. Members will also get an opportunity to speak for or against policy that is up for vote.

Extraordinary General Meeting

Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) are meetings called between the AGMs, but are run in the same way and offer opportunities to discuss and pass policy without waiting until the next AGM.

Next AGM – 25th May, 1.00pm, N412

How to vote on the proposals

Ideally you would attend AGM and vote on the day so that you can hear the discussions around the proposals in full. You can attend online or in person and he information on how to do this is above.

If you can’t make it on the day there are two other ways to vote:

Nominate someone to vote in the room on your behalf. They will be your proxy voter. This person will attend the AGM (online or in-person) and vote for you. Please note that one person can only vote on behalf of a maximum of five people. To nominate someone to vote on your behalf as your proxy voter please complete the online form by 12.00pm on Monday 23rd May.

Vote on our proposals by ‘postal vote’. This means you send in your votes ahead of the AGM and cannot change them, even if you then decide to attend the AGM. To vote by ‘postal vote’ please complete this form by 12.00pm on Tuesday 24th.
