Hello!
My name is Joe/Joseph, Im standing this year for the role of Education chair in what will technically be my 4th Year at the University of Derby. A little about me first: I've been an Academic Rep since Year 1 on my course in the Business School. In my second year I was the Business School Part Time Officer, and now in my third year I'm on my Year in Industry Placement!
I'm highly attentive in these roles as seen through my Second Year's accomplishments/attendance rate of events. Also, with this role representing everyone across the University I have experiences and skills developed to understand the academic situations at the University.
For me this is a natural progression of developement and something I hoped to achieve going into my final year. I'm not your typical student, nights out aren't for me but these sort of roles and positions are much more inline with my interests therefore I promise to do my best and to ensure the student body is represented as best as I can if you do vote for me!
My aims:?
- Hear voices of students through the PTO for Education team and represent these voices professionally
- Lead the team of PTO's for Education effectively and ensure they each can have a voice & time to discuss issues with me & others
- Ensure the student voice is heard at the academic board and other education related meetings
