My name is Claire, I am currently a first-year student on the llb degree based in Law.
I feel passionately about supporting my fellow peers and wish to gain as much experience in advocating on other’s behalf as I can and feel that this role would gain me the experience to develop skills I will need whilst raising issues that are important to the entire cohort. I wish to ensure that all students journey through University is as fulfilling as possible. I am kind and considerate and have the skills necessary to convey serious issues in a professional and capable manner.
Therefore, I want to run for part time officer so that I can have the opportunity to ensure the experience that students are having is positive and fulfilling.
key aims
- Create opportunities for students to gain experience that is relevant to their degree through volunteering.
- Support campaigns which are popular with students such as to create a separate policy for student parents.and negotiating considerations for tuition fees and halls costs, and extra funding
- To ensure that students progression through their degree is as stress-free as reasonably possible and that students feel supported by the University and that I raise any issues bought to my attention in a professional and diplomatic manner
what i have done as a student/Programme rep/sports committee member etc.
During my time as a student rep. I have taken all issues raised to myself seriously and in most cases been able to negotiate outcomes by discussing with staff and students in a professional and diplomatic manner, holding utmost respect for all involved.
