Donna Farrand

Hi, I'm Donna (she/her). I have previously studied Ba Hons in Health and Social care and I am currently a first year Occupational Therapy student. I loved my first degree at Derby and made some life long friends, I can honestly say it was the best three years of my life and I am eager to make the next three years here just as rewarding.

Outside of University I have promoted equality and diversity sessions in my place of work and I am passionate about gender equality.

I will bring an open heart and mind to the role and I will always maintain my devotion and integrity. I listen and care greatly for others and what they have to say. I accept and respect everyone regardless of their race, sexuality, gender or status. I am creative and organized, and I would like to promote and empower  everyone's voice on campus.

I am approachable, happy and willing to talk and listen to everyone if you have any concerns, ideas or just for a chat.

If elected I would continue the fantastic work of the previous candidate and.

  • Campaign for a 'Pronoun Pledge' to  encourage a norm of introducing pronouns in official University communication
  • Advocate for  Equality and Diversity Training to become mandatory for all students
  • I promise to make it my responsibility to raise awareness of inequalities amongst all gender identities and bring representation to those who need it.
  • and just for fun, bring cake.
