Back, by popular demand, is the Law Society's Public Speaking Training Workshop.
Last year, filling a lecture theatre, the session provided valuable hints and tips to improve attendees public speaking skills. The session will cover; posture, breathing, tone, pace, volume, improvisation and holding an audience - all skills that could push you up that all important grade boundary, attendees of last year's session achieved grades in the high 70s and even some in the 80s for their advocacy assessments.
These skills will be useful for all year groups, and will form the basis of a number of training session that are being considered for later in the year. 1st Years have their LCSE Moots and their Bail Applications, 2nd years have their ALSE Advocacy Assessments and 3rd years have your Equity Moot, to name just one.
Public Speaking, good public speaking, is a skill that can be learnt and we can teach it to you - all you have to do is turn up and engage.
