Students fundraising for CHICKS

If any of you were about the University during the elections period, there’s a high chance you caught some Gaujcher action but just like the Union its now undertaken a name change: Community Contribution Points.

This is a reward scheme for students do great things beyond their usual community; fundraising or volunteering.

There are various levels to the awards dependant on the number of hours spent dedicated to the good deeds.

The scheme has been sponsored by local businesses providing the rewards. To name a few; Barry's Deserts, Paradise Golf, Mega Zone and 67 Bridge Street!

The scheme was launched on Saturday when a number of student volunteers collected money for CHICKS Charity and immediately got rewarded with tickets to the Derby County vs Sheffield Wednesday game. Derby County did not disappoint, the atmosphere was great.

I am aware that good do-er students are more modest, so if you would like your friend to be rewarded please drop me an email to let me know! I can’t wait to reward students throughout the year and hear about the great things they are doing!
