The Walking Society organises outdoor walking trips for students in the beautiful scenery of Derbyshire and the White Peaks. It's a great way to keep fit and meet new people throughout the academic year.
The trips are for both experienced and inexperienced walkers; with the routes given out in advance you can look it up and decide if you’re up for it. The walks are on a bi-weekly, normally a Saturday or a Wednesday.
We also have a few socials planned, but we want our members to feel like they have a say in what socials we do. We have a trip planned for the Peak District in March, with more information given out closer to the time.
The walks have created a community of individuals who are studying various different courses across the University, and there’s always room for more members! For individuals or groups of friends who enjoy walking and socialising, this society is for you.
Our Facebook group is a great way to connect with other members and keep up to date with walks and socials, all you need to do is search for the DerbySU Walking Society on Facebook, find us on Twitter (@DerbyUSWalking), Instragram (@derbyuswalkingsociety)or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
