We’re one of the university’s most exciting and inclusive sports clubs, open to players of all abilities. Whether you’re chasing BUCS competition glory, looking to stay active, or just want to be part of a fun and social community — there’s a place for you here. ⸻ About Us We’re proud to represent Derby in BUCS basketball, with Men’s (div 1 and div 4) and Women’s (div 2) teams competing across the UK. Alongside our competitive squads, we also run “Just Play” sessions for anyone who wants to give basketball a try in a relaxed, friendly environment. Off the court, we’re a vibrant society — hosting socials, fundraisers, and an annual tour abroad. From themed nights out to charity events, there’s always something going on. ⸻ Training & Teams Men’s 1st Team • Mondays: 5:30–7:00pm • Thursdays: 5:30–7:00pm • weekday morning sessions Men’s 2nd Team • Thursdays: 7:00–8:30pm Women’s Team • Mondays: 5:30–7:00pm • Fridays: 4:00–8:00pm (Markeaton Park) Just Play (open to all abilities) • Mondays: 4:00–5:30pm ⸻ Memberships & Fees To join, you’ll need: • Union Sports Pass: £20 (all members must have this) • Basketball England License (BUCS requirement): £32 Membership options: • Standard Membership: £20 (to join us and partake in training and our socials • BUCS Top-Up: £15 for those on men's 2 and women's 1 who will be competing for our teams in the BUCS league • Performance Top-Up: £40 for our men's 1 Total Costs: • Men’s 1st Team: £60 (+ license + sports pass) • Men’s 2nd & Women’s Teams: £45 (+ license + sports pass) • Just Play: £20 (+ sports pass) ⸻ Events & Socials We’re more than just basketball.
