Welcome to Christian Union!

We are a group of students who are passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ: His life, death, and resurrection and how this applies to us.

We want to share this news with every student at the University of Derby all year round - this includes you, whether you are a lifelong believer of Christ, a relatively new believer, or you just want to ask a few questions. We want all students at Derby to live a life full of purpose, joy, and to have a great community around. One that will support them and lift them up during their time at university. 

We would love to meet every student who is interested in learning more about Jesus and would love to welcome you to come to our weekly Christian Union meeting - Equip. We meet every Thursday from 6:45 PM - 8:30 PM. Bring a friend, get the chance to make new ones, and enjoy the evening worshipping, playing games, and getting into God's Word.

We have many other opportunities throughout the year for you to join us, such as socials, events, and fundraising nights!

DUCU is supported by UCCF: The Christian Unions, an organization that helps equip Christian Unions in universities nationwide.

 

 

 

 

 

Equip

We meet every Thursday evening, from 6:45 PM - 8:30 PM in Blends at the One Friar Gate Square campus to spend time together socialising, worshipping, playing games, praying, exploring the bible deeper, and more. 

Doors open at 6:45 PM with time to socialise and catch up with each other. You can always come along 15 minutes early if you are in need of support or are anxious about joining a new group; just pop us a message on the official DerbyUniCU instagram page. You'll always know you're in the right place as you will spot some of our members waiting to greet you as part of our Welcome Team from 6:45 until 7:00, our official start time. These members will ensure that you are aware of where to go and will be sure to get you into the group quickly.

At 7:00 PM our equip nights officially begin, typically with all the updates around Christian Union and what is to come. There will be a game before we get stuck into what our theme for the night will be; the theme may be a one-off or part of our series. This will be explained at the beginning, and you can also check out the official DerbyUniCU instagram page that will give more information. Some nights, we have special guests from charities or organisations coming in to give talks about who they are and what they do, to help inspire and encourage us. 

Come along one Thursday and check us out! You are always welcome, no matter the size of your faith, your background, or your beliefs. We aim to raise each other up, and raise God even higher.
