Environmental & Sustainability Welcome to the University of Derby Environmental and Sustainability community! We are a new society that is open to anyone with an interest in the environment and sustainability, regardless of your course. We will provide an opportunity and space to interact with the environment, sustainable practices, and likeminded people! We have lots of exciting events and socials planned for the 25/26 year with EnSus, including: 🏞️ walks 🍻 quizzes 🦔 conservation activities 🚗 trips To name a few! We will be keeping our website and Instagram updated with any upcoming events and dates throughout the year, so give us a follow to make sure you do not miss out! We try to meet every Wednesday afternoon/evening, and there may be the occasional Saturday event. But don't worry, we will let you know in advance! Our society offers many benefits, including: Connecting with nature through nature walks and conservation activities Contributing to making positive changes around campus Meeting and socialising with like-minded individuals And much more, all for a membership fee of £5 for the entire year! Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone at EnSus! Fundraising: We are raising money for for The Elm Foundation, a local charity supporting domestic abuse victims, in collaboration with the Hiking and Psychotherapy & Counselling communities. Each community we be walking 10km, and ANYONE can join us! Wednesday 4th March 2026 - Litter Picking 🗑️ Join EnSus to help our local community by picking litter! Meet outside the back of Markeaton Street entrance (the side closest to the brook) for 2pm, and make a difference. Saturday 14th March 2026 - 10km Fundraising Walk 🚶♂️ Join us in our 10 kilometre walk around Derwent Meadows to raise money for the Elm Foundation Wednesday 25th March 2026 - Members-only Scavenger Hunt 🥚 Join us from 1:30pm till 3:30pm for a nature-themed scavenger hunt around the UoD main building. There will be edible prizes! Contact us!
