Environmental & Sustainability Welcome to the University of Derby Environmental and Sustainability community! We are a new society that is open to anyone with an interest in the environment and sustainability, regardless of your course. We will provide an opportunity and space to interact with the environment, sustainable practices, and likeminded people! We have lots of exciting events and socials planned for the 25/26 year with EnSus, including: 🏞️ walks 🍻 quizzes 🦔 conservation activities 🚗 trips To name a few! We will be keeping our website and Instagram updated with any upcoming events and dates throughout the year, so give us a follow to make sure you do not miss out! We try to meet every Wednesday afternoon/evening, and there may be the occasional Saturday event. But don't worry, we will let you know in advance! Our society offers many benefits, including: Connecting with nature through nature walks and conservation activities Contributing to making positive changes around campus Meeting and socialising with like-minded individuals And much more, all for a membership fee of £5 for the entire year! Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone at EnSus! Fundraising: This academic year we have raised money for Days for Girls and The Elm Foundation, in the form of a Bake Sale and 10km fundraising walk. Upcoming events: Wednesday 25th March 2026 - Members-only Scavenger Hunt 🥚 Join us in our Nature-themed scavenger hunt around the UoD main campus, perfect event to get in the Easter spirit! Location: N112, Kedleston Road campus Time: 1:30pm-3:30pm Prize: Edible upcon completion! Event info: Riddles will lead you to locations around campus. Find them, take a photo, and onto the next! After finding all the correct locations, you will be treated with an edible prize :) Wednesday 15th April 2026 - Oceans - A David Attenborough Movie 🎞️ 'David Attenborough draws on a lifetime of experience to reveal Earth’s most spectacular underwater habitats, showing that we’re in the greatest age of Ocean discovery and highlighting its vital importance. While exposing the Ocean's biggest challenges, Attenborough’s message is one of hope: the opportunity for marine life recovery on an unprecedented scale is within reach.' Location: E908, Kedleston Road campus Start time: 1pm Tuesday 21st April 2026 - Alpaca Farm 🦙 This members-only event required pre-booking in order to attend. Will will provide further information to these members nearer the time of the event. Wednesday 29th April 2026 - Hedgehogs 🦔 More information tba Wednesday 6th May 2026 - Last Event of the Year! 🎳🍕 Join us in some rounds of bowling before heading to Pizza Express to celebrate the end of the academic year! You can come to either activities, or both! We will be pre-booking both activities, so if you want to attend either event, please fill out the Microsoft Forms below by Sunday 19th April 2026.
