Environmental & Sustainability Welcome to the University of Derby Environmental and Sustainability community! We are a new society that is open to anyone with an interest in the environment and sustainability, regardless of your course. We will provide an opportunity and space to interact with the environment, sustainable practices, and likeminded people! We have lots of exciting events and socials planned for the 25/26 year with EnSus, including: 🏞️ walks 🍻 quizzes 🦔 conservation activities 🚗 trips To name a few! We will be keeping our website and Instagram updated with any upcoming events and dates throughout the year, so give us a follow to make sure you do not miss out! We try to meet every Wednesday afternoon/evening, and there may be the occasional Saturday event. But don't worry, we will let you know in advance! Tuesday 17th February 2026 - Pub Crawl 🍺 Meeting at the Friary for 7pm, the Environmental & Sustainability and Geological communities are joining together for a pub crawl around Derby! Meet at the Friary, DE1 1FG, at 7pm, where students get discounts on all drinks via the MIXR app! Have a drink there before continuing the pub crawl in Derby City Centre Meet new people and have a good time! We hope to see you there! Wednesday 25th February 2026 - Wildlife Borders and Ponds 🌱💦 Meeting outside the main building steps at the UoD main campus for 1:30pm, we will be continuing our rewilding efforts by planting wildlife borders around the Ponds on Kedleston Road campus. This event is predicted to finish at 3:30pm. Wednesday 4th March 2026 - Litter Picking 🗑️ Join EnSus to help our local community by picking litter! Meet outside the back of Markeaton Street entrance (the side closest to the brook) for 2pm, and make a difference. Wednesday 11th March 2026 - Silent Disco 🪩🎧 Join us as we host a Silent Disco!
