Give it a go

Sometimes you're not 100% sure on whether you'll fit in, or enjoy, something. We understand, and our Communities understand. To help you get a taste of what's on offer, and to have a chance to try out something new without having to fully commit, we bring you Give It A Go sessions - or GIAGs as they're known to some.

And remember, this year your Vice President (Activities) has set up a scheme to help those of you that are a bit weary of attending something new on your own. You can book a buddy to attend a Community with you, to help you with any anxiety you may have or just to boost your confidence with trying something new. Check out the scheme, and book your buddy

Tue 15th September

Pole Fitness Pole Fitness - Give It A Go First Session: 15th September 6pm - 7:30pm; Kirtley Hall (K006) University of Derby Kedleston Road; Come and join us for our first Give It A Go session. It will be in Kirtley hall this first session is 6pm-7:30pm. Our coach will be at this session to start with to get used to doing simple moves on the pole and get an idea of what we get up to.

Pole Fitness Pole Fitness - Give It A Go: 17th September 5pm - 7pm; Kirtley Hall (K006) University of Derby Kedleston Road; Come and join us for another Give It A Go session. In this session it will be led by our students doing a dance workshop, to develop your moves on the pole and turn them into a routine!

Christian Union GIAG - Church Search: 17th September 7pm - 8:30pm; Cavendish Building - Atrium; Meet churches from across Derby, hear what they’re about and find one that could feel like home. There’ll be friendly faces, freebies and plenty of opportunities to chat!

Fri 18th September

Football Men's Football Men's - Trials: 18th September 9am - 5pm; Upper Pitch, Sports Centre, Kedleston Road; The University of Derby Men's Football Trials are an opportunity for aspiring players to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot on the university’s football team. Open to male students, the trials are designed to assess players' ability.

Thu 24th September

Christian Union GIAG - Equip: 24th September 7pm - 8:30pm; One Friar Gate Square - Union Social Space; Come and Give It A Go! Our first regular CU night is a chance to meet people, see what we’re about and get involved — whether you’re a Christian, curious about faith, or just looking for some new friends.
