Whether you're an experienced hill walker, love exploring the outdoors, or have never been on a hike before, our community is the perfect way to meet new people, discover the Peak District, and make unforgettable memories throughout your time at university. We are a friendly, inclusive, and supportive community where everyone is welcome. From local Peak District walks to weekend adventures further afield, there's something for every ability level. 🌄Upcoming Hikes All hikes are now members only. You can buy membership on this page and it is only £8 for the year. Upcoming Hike Dates 📅Wednesday 14th October 2026 - Returners Hike. 📍Ashford in the Water ➡️ Bakewell via Monsal Head and Viaduct 📏8.3 miles / 13.4km This hike is only open to people who were members of the society last year. 📅Saturday 24th October 2026 📍Blackwell and Chee Dale Stepping Stones 🔁 📏 8.3 miles / 13.4km Our hikes have varying levels of difficulty and are suitable for people of all experience levels to join. We hike 2 weeks in a row and then have a week off and we are going to try and organise mid-week hikes for those that cant make weekends. 💷Membership Membership is now required if you wish to join us on any of our future hikes You can buy membership on this page at the cost of only £8 for the year. Once you have bought membership message Secretary Joe Hunter to be admitted to our members only group chats. If you werent in any of our freshers group chats send us an email or message on instagram with your name and student id number so we can admit you to our group chats. 🥾What We Do Throughout the year, members can enjoy: Regular hikes in the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales Social events and club nights Beginner-friendly walks Challenging routes for experienced hikers Opportunities to observe different plants, animals and architecture, as well as incredible views! All we ask is that you bring some energy, a sense of adventure, and a good snack always helps!
