Psychotherapy & Counselling Welcome to the Psychotherapy and Counselling Society! Founded in 2025. The community that provides you with the opportunity to personalise your learning experience to explore any of your therapeutic interests with like-minded people across all levels of study. This society will host events to enhance your university experience both academically and socially. Members of this community will be able to access these events, which include: Study Sessions: An environment for students to work on and prepare for assignments alongside their peers. Workshops: An opportunity for members to vote on topics they would like to explore further that they may not be able to explore during their timetable schedule. We will also provide advice regarding placement, assignments, and skills to ensure all students are best prepared for their academic journey. Skills Practice: Every therapy student has their individual interests and, throughout their academic journey, will start to discover their preferred therapeutic modality. In society, members can practice skills associated with any modality with fellow students who share the same enthusiasm across all levels, regardless of their experience, thus allowing you to personalise your learning experience. Guest Speakers: Members will be able to attend talks with guest speakers, including lecturers, alumni and therapists with various specialities like grief, sex, and domestic violence — an opportunity to gain insight into real-world experiences and your next steps. Discussions and Debates: Healthy discussions and debates with fellow students regarding any therapeutic topics. Networking and Community Engagement: We aim to open doors for our members to opportunities that allow them to make valuable connections and gain useful experience within the community through volunteering and charitable activities.
