Rugby Union

We are the University of Derby Rugby Football Club

Founded in 1987, UDRFC has built a history as a team of fierce competitors and is well known throughout the university, with members featuring in prominent positions within the university’s hierarchy. We are the most followed and active club at the university. 

Heading into the 2025/26 season, our 1st XV compete in the BUCS league every Wednesday. We also have a development squad that focuses on enhancing their abilities and plays regular friendlies against other universities and local teams.

As a club, we train on the state-of-the-art 4G pitch at the Kedleston Road University Sports Centre. We train twice a week, alongside these training sessions, we also offer a gym program for all members to access and follow, which was created to a qualified PT.
