Taekwon-Do

The University of Derby Taekwon-Do is a branch of Derby School of Taekwon-Do — which teaches ITF Taekwon-Do to students studying at the University of Derby. Classes are run for beginners (where no prior experience or fitness level is expected) all the way through to the higher levels of black belt.

Training

Our resident International Instructor is Master Knighton who has been in the ITF for over thirty years. Our classes are currently located at:

• Sports Centre Hall, University of Derby
  Tuesdays 7.00pm — 8.30pm
• Kirtley Dance Studio, University of Derby
  Fridays 7.00pm — 9.00pm
• Additional training available offsite
  Thursday 7.30pm — 9.00pm (Darley Abbey Scout Hut, Darley Abbey, DE22 1DT)

Taekwon-Do

Training regularly in Taekwon-Do has many benefits. You will quickly experience improvements in both your fitness and flexibility that in turn improves your overall feeling of well being. Over time as your skill in Taekwon-Do improves your confidence and self defence ability will grow. As well as physical improvement Taekwon-Do nurtures mental improvement too. The tenets; Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit go hand in hand with the physical activities.

Joining the Club

Before joining the club you can come to a free taster session to decide if it's for you, If you want to continue training then you can join the club via this page.

Joining the club entitles members to:

• Access to 3 Training Sessions per week
• Access to all social events.

Training Fees

Our training fees for 2025/26 are below, we have offers available for the start of the year, these won't last long so act quick and save yourself some money!

After joining the club (£25) your training can be paid for in one of three ways:

• Pay each session (£8.00 on the day)
• Pay a termly fee to train for £75
• Pay an annual fee to train for £125
