Whether you're Ukrainian, have Ukrainian roots, or are simply curious about one of Europe's most vibrant cultures, you've found your community! We are a dynamic and inclusive society open to everyone, dedicated to celebrating Ukrainian culture, fostering friendships, and providing meaningful opportunities for our members. What We Offer: Cultural Exchange: Immerse yourself in Ukrainian traditions by celebrating Vyshyvanka Day and Independence Day, joining our Ukrainian movie nights, and participating in fun cultural quizzes. Social Events: Connect with new people at our relaxed socials, and enjoy unique joint activities through our collaboration with the Derby Occupational Therapy Society. Language & Learning: Join our language exchange sessions to learn Ukrainian or help Ukrainians practice their English. Academic & Career Growth: Through our official partnerships with the Ukrainian Students' Union (USU) and the Association of Ukrainians in Derby, you automatically receive a free membership of USU, which offers exclusive events, volunteering opportunities, fundraising events, and exclusive access to apply for internships/placements (only for Ukrainian citizens). Community Support: We come together for occasional fundraising events to support important causes. Simple & Affordable Membership: Becoming an official member is a fantastic value. It requires a one-time £5 Union Pass (which gives you access to all student union societies) plus our annual membership fee of just £3. For this small amount, you unlock a full academic year of access to all our events, resources, and incredible opportunities! Our Community is Open to All! You don't need to be Ukrainian or speak the language to join us. We are proud to be a diverse group of students. We even hold a special information session every December for those outside the university who are interested in our community and how to get involved. We can't wait to meet you!
