Scrutiny Panel is held approximately every two months and is an opportunity for the full time officers to be ‘scrutinised’ on their work and progress with regard to their manifesto aims. The full time officers will go through their recent work and explain their progress. A panel of 6 volunteer panellists will be selected from the Union Part Time Officers, Sports, Societies and Student Led Services who will act as the ‘scrutineers’ to ask questions of the officers in relation to their work and manifestos and what they have (or haven’t!) been doing.
All University of Derby students are invited and can attend in person or watch live on our Derby Union Facebook stream . As an audience member, you will also have an opportunity to ask questions of the Officers if you have any. You can also ask your questions anonymously online by going to www.slido.com and enter code #L830 on the day.
Any student can also call any of the Part Time Officers to the panel to give a report. This can be done for example if it is felt a PTO isn’t fulfilling their duties.
At the end of the panel, only the panellists will stay and will vote on whether the officers and anyone called to give a report has made ‘sufficient progress’ If they have not, relevant steps will be taken.
Join us in room B102 at Kedleston Road Campus.
