An event organised by: Enactus

Annual Derby Start-up showcase event with bold ideas, live pitching, demos, networking and more.

Enactus is a global network that empowers students to create real social and environmental impact through entrepreneurial action. As part of this movement, Enactus Derby turns ideas into projects that directly benefit our local community while developing future-ready leaders. Across Enactus UK, teams deliver hundreds of high-impact projects each year — and Enactus Derby contributes by creating initiatives that support local people, improve wellbeing, and promote sustainability.

Our Vision & Mission

Enactus Derby

What We Do:

We give University of Derby students a platform to design and run social-enterprise projects that meet real community needs, often aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With guidance from business mentors, academic advisors and industry partners, our members gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, project development and social innovation.

Why Being Part of Enactus Derby Matters

  • Real impact: Our projects aim to deliver measurable change for people and the planet.
  • Skill development: Members build essential skills in entrepreneurship, project management, leadership, marketing and finance.
  • Mentorship & networks: Students connect with business professionals, alumni and partners who support their development and career pathways.
  • Community & collaboration: Being part of Enactus Derby means joining a supportive team, contributing to meaningful work and belonging to a global community of changemakers.
  • Enterprise + social purpose: We encourage students to think compassionately and creatively — using business as a tool for good.

What We Stand For

We empower students from all courses and backgrounds to turn ideas into impactful projects.

We champion innovation, sustainability, collaboration and social responsibility.

And above all, we’re committed to creating a more equitable and sustainable future — one student-led project at a time.

Project - Role Resolve

Role Resolve CIC is a community-interest organisation dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of neurodiverse adolescents through early, creative, and therapeutic intervention. Our mission is to help young people build emotional understanding, social confidence, and meaningful connections during a crucial stage of their development.

At the heart of our work is Role Resolve, an innovative, interactive storytelling intervention that blends therapeutic tabletop role-play with evidence-informed psychotherapeutic principles. Through guided narrative, co-created worlds, and imaginative character play, young people are supported to explore emotions safely, develop communication skills, and strengthen social bonds. This playful yet structured approach empowers participants to express themselves more freely, recognise and regulate feelings, and practice problem-solving and collaboration.

All stories, worlds, and materials used in our interventions are original works authored and designed by the Role Resolve team, ensuring each session is tailored, immersive, and developmentally appropriate.

Alongside our adolescent interventions, Resolve CIC also provides:

  • Individual therapy for young people,
  • Training for therapists, educators, and support professionals in the use of creative, story-based therapeutic methods,
  • Consultation on neurodiversity-affirming practice and early mental health support.

Our vision is to create safe spaces where neurodiverse young people feel seen, heard, and empowered using imagination and storytelling as tools for growth, connection, and positive change.

Project - Narrise

Project Narrise is an emerging initiative dedicated to helping international students adapt confidently to life in the UK. Currently in its ideation phase, the project aims to create a supportive community where students can build friendships, share experiences, and access guidance as they settle into a new culture. Narrise will offer connection-building activities, peer-support networks, and practical resources that make everyday student life easier, more fulfilling, and far less isolating. Our goal is to ensure every international student feels welcome, empowered, and part of a thriving community.
