The event will begin with a series of relaxed icebreakers to help attendees introduce themselves, meet new people and feel comfortable, particularly those attending alone or who may not already know members of the society. We will then move into a series of Congo-themed games, including a Congolese Family Feud, where teams will compete by answering questions based on Congolese culture, traditions, food, music and everyday experiences.
This will be followed by a Congolese culture and general knowledge quiz , giving attendees an opportunity to test what they know while also learning something new about both the Democratic Republic of Congo and Republic of Congo. Throughout the evening, Congolese music will be played to create an energetic and welcoming atmosphere, with opportunities for attendees to interact, laugh and compete as teams. The event will conclude with a lively Congolese dance-off, where participants can showcase or learn different Congolese dance styles while enjoying music from across different generations. Overall, the aim is to create an inclusive and entertaining social where students can experience Congolese culture in an informal way, make new connections and leave with a greater appreciation of Congolese music, culture and community.
