A welcoming space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to share lunch and explore the history of LGBTQ+ scientists and engineers famous or forgotten

Join us for a chilled lunchtime hangout where LGBTQ+ students, allies, and absolutely anyone who’s interested can come together, grab some food, and chat about the incredible LGBTQ+ scientists and engineers who’ve shaped the world around us.

This isn’t a formal session or anything you need to prepare for, it is simply a relaxed, supportive space to meet new people, share stories, and learn something new. Whether you already know a bit about LGBTQ+ figures in STEM or you’ve never heard any names before, you’re totally welcome. In fact, if you don’t know any, that’s the perfect reason to come along!

We’ll be talking about a mix of well‑known icons and lesser‑known trailblazers, celebrating the diverse history that often gets overlooked. Bring your lunch, bring a friend, or just bring yourself, and join our VP (Welfare)!

Come along, get involved, and leave feeling a little more connected, a little more inspired, and hopefully having learned something new about the LGBTQ+ people who’ve shaped science and engineering through the years.
