A two-hour workshop with Dr Dom Jackson‑Cole introducing inclusive LGBTQ+ language, the current socio‑political context, key terminology, and best‑practice tips for using inclusive and respectful language.

This is an event ran by the University of Derby Staff LGBTQ+ Equaltiy Network.
This two-hour workshop, facilitated by Dr Dom Jackson-Cole, will introduce participants to the latest inclusive language with the focus on LGBTQ+ communities and the issues that they currently face. It will cover the current socio-political context, explanations of most common LGBTQ+ terminology and best practice tips for using inclusive language, even if you don’t know the latest terminology. The workshop builds on the previously run one-hour workshops but is also suitable for those who haven’t previously delt with the topic. It will be useful to anyone at the University of Derby, whether staff or student.
