What are the community awards?
The Community Awards are a celebration of everything that societies and student led services (SLS) have achieved this academic year! The ceremony is taking place on Thursday 19th May and doors open at 6.00pm. Tickets are available to all society and SLS members to the awards and members are invited to the after party (hosted by Mukky Duck (tickets for the after party only go on sale on 11th April). Awards include Event of the Year, Community Champion of the year and the coveted Committees of the year plus much more! The night will have fun, food, and games with specialist cocktails and chances to win. How much are tickets and what's included in this price?
A regular ticket is £15 and includes entrance to the awards, a buffet dinner, entertainment and the after party.
Members are invited to the after party hosted by Mukky Duck and tickets are just £5 each. These will be on sale from 11th April on the Union's website.
What can I expect?
There will be lots going on at the Community Awards including games hosted by our lovely Jack Holcombe, Dan Jellicoe and Vice President (Activities) Beth Baxtrem. There will be specialist cocktails, a professional photographer and lots more to get involved in! Details to be released soon.
If I'm not nominated for an award, is it still worth me attending?
The community awards are a celebration of all societies and student led services. Even if you are not shortlisted for an award it promises to be a great night with lots to see and do!
Can I go even if my society or SLS hasn't been very active?
All Society and SLS members are invited to the community awards even if you think you haven't been very active. It is a great chance to hear what others have been up to and have a drink with your fellow members. The community awards is an end of the year celebration whether you think you have achieved something or not.
How do I purchase a ticket?
You can purchase a ticket through our website. If you have any dietary requirements please email Alexandra Stone at Alexandra.stone@derbyunion.co.uk before 29th April.
Is there a dress code?
The dress code is smart casual with a black and red theme.
Can I bring a Plus One?
The awards ceremony is only for society and SLS members. The after party is open to society and SLS members and plus 1s. Any Plus One must be a University of Derby student and be able to provide proof of this on entrance.
