Over the last two months, we have been busy celebrating student success. Every year we host three awards ceremonies; education, community, and sports awards which aim to recognise the achievements of students (and staff) for their accomplishments within the last academic year.

First up was Community Awards which took place at the Farmhouse at Mackworth on Thursday 27th April. Community Awards was all about our Societies, Student-Led Services, and Volunteers with awards such as Event of the Year, New Society of the Year, and Charitable Champion of the Year.

On Wednesday 10th May we held our Education Awards at the Museum of Making. This event was a fantastic celebration of all the hard work and dedication of our Student Reps, as well as the inspirational staff at the University. Students were nominated for awards such as PAL Leader of the Year and Biggest Student Officer Success, meanwhile Staff were nominated for accolades such as Professional Support Staff of the Year, or Lecturer of the Year.

Finally, Sports Awards took place on Thursday 18th May at the Pedigree Suite at Pride Park Stadium. Club of the Year, Individual Athlete of the Year, and Mental Health Champions of the Year were among the awards received, however the atmosphere was particularly electric with the announcement of Sports Personality of the Year!

Our students are amazing and Awards Season is always a highlight of our year because it means we get to recognise and celebrate their achievements.
