The Netball club have partnered with the Against Breast Cancer charity. The charity run a recycling scheme which relies on the donations of used bras to raise funds for breast cancer research. For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund their research.

Abbie Jones explains why this charity is important to the Netball club:

Breast cancer is a charity that is close to a lot of the netball girls hearts. We really wanted to do something that would help this charity. As we had already done a lot of fundraising this year we decided we wanted to do something different. As a committee we found the Against breast cancer charity which collects bras and uses them to raise vital funds for breast cancer research and also sends them to less developed countries where underwear can be very expensive, so that bras are available to all. It a scheme that is easy to join in with and participate with and we are really proud to be formal supporters of the charity!

If you would like to donate your used bras to this scheme, you will find a 'bra bin' at the infopoint desk within the Union Quarter at Kedleston Road
