RAG Week!

Last week was RAG week and for those of you who didn’t see the embarrassing video of myself jumping out of a plane – RAG stands for Raise and Give and it’s how we fundraise here in the Union!

The week was jam packed with events from societies and sports teams and even individuals who wanted to help fundraise for our two charities; CHICKS and Autism East Midlands.  It was such a good week even Russell Kane came by to drop in!

You may have directly got involved by throwing eggs at the Netball Team or eaten the afro Caribbean Societies cakes! However, if you splashed the cash and paid off your library fines 100% of that will have gone to a good cause.

The approximate total raised by student groups alone in this week was £1164.89.

We are still awaiting totals from the library and Walkabout so the figure can only rise! Thank you to everyone who took the effort to organise and fundraise over this week.

This isn’t the only time we fundraise, we keep going throughout the year, students can email the RAG committee with ideas to fundraise and can help make the fundraiser a success!

This Christmas we have events such as a Santa Scramble (obstacle races in Santa Suits) to get you in the festive spirit. For student reduced ticket prices follow this link https://www.derbyunion.co.uk/ents/event/1493/
