Try New Sports

Want to try something new, hang out with friends and make memories? We have a series of ‘Give it a Go’ activities in partnership with the Union of Students and Sports Council. Ultimate Frisbee – Tues 30th April, 5.00pm-6.00pm and Handball – Weds 8th May, 5.00pm-6.00pm. Simply turn up in comfortable clothing and sensible footwear. Just Play Returns

Our fun social sport programme has restarted. Join us each week at one or more of our sessions including touch rugby, badminton, football, futsal and basketball. Sessions cost just £1.50, are for all abilities and are led by a friendly sports activator who are on hand to support you. The full timetable can be found here. Halls Sport: Four competitions confirmed

Excitement is building as we confirm the lineup for the Summer Term. Which Hall will be crowned Halls Sport Champions 2023-24 come the end of term? Currently, St Chris are dominating the leaderboard, but Nunnery Court are in hot pursuit, promising a gripping contest ahead. With a jam-packed spring term on the horizon, the competition is fierce, and every match is an opportunity to showcase skill and teamwork. It’s FREE to take part, plus there are prizes to be won.

🏓 Table Tennis – Thurs 18th April, 5.00pm-6:30pm at St Chris’ Court

⚽ Football – Weds 1st May, 4.00pm-6.00pm, top pitch Ked Road

🤾‍♂️ Dodgeball – Wednesday 8th May, time TBC, sports hall Ked Road

🏌️‍♂️ Pitch & Putt – Wednesday 15th May, time TBC, Markeaton Park

Inclusive Sport

The Sport & Activity team are very happy to be working with the Union of Students to deliver Inclusive Sport Weeks this April. Starting Monday 22nd April we will be offering some inclusive sport activities - such as boccia, swimming, sitting volleyball, walking netball, para-badminton – in and around campus and highlighting ways to get involved in adapted sport whilst at university and supporting those who may face challenges around accessibility.

Spirit In Sport

May is People of Faith and Belief Month! Join in with a fun game of football to celebrate and bring together students of all faiths and beliefs. The game will take place on Friday 17th May, 4.00pm-6.00pm, on the upper pitch at the Sports Centre. It’s FREE and all equipment is provided - simply turn up, bring sensible footwear and play! ⚽
