And so the time has come for me to step down from this position. It has truly been an incredible experience, and this position has taught me so much not only about the role, but also about myself.

That sounds so cliché, but it's true; I've learned so much more about myself as a worker than I have in any other job so far. I was capable of identifying my limitations and start to prepare myself to guarantee that the mistakes I made here do not reoccur in my next job.

I'm going to be completely changing my life with this next job since I'm not only starting a new job, but I'm also moving down south. It's both exhilarating and terrifying, but I truly feel that in order to improve yourself, you must begin moving outside of your comfort zone and challenging yourself.

Finally, I suppose it's time for me to say goodbye. I'd like to thank everyone on the union staff for their help throughout my time here; they've been so patient and supportive, I couldn't have asked for a better team; I'll miss coming into the back office when I was bored and bothering you all. Thank you to the university employees with whom I have collaborated; it has been an honour. To the students, thank you for voting for me in last year's elections, and I hope I've done you proud while in the post. And to my fellow officers. It has been an absolute joy to work alongside you, through highs, lows, laughs and tears we've done it all as a team and I wouldn't change it for the world. I will miss working in the office and talking about the most random things. P.S. sorry for leaving early and making you pick up the rest of my workload!!
