As we begin 2026, are you thinking about career prospects? Graduating this year? Looking to take a year out from studying? Nominations for the Union Elections are open, and you could find your next job!

The Union Elections provide a unique opportunity to work on projects that enhance the student experience and raise student voice. This is truly a job like no other - no two days are the same and you choose what you work on! Each of the three available roles are unique and focus on different aspects of student life, so there's something for everyone. 

 

Union President

You’ll oversee the entire Union, working to improve student welfare and enact real change that positively affects students’ lives. As President, you'd gain experience leading an organisation, and sit on senior committees among the leaders of the University and external organisations. 

Are you passionate about leading the charge to improve the student experience? This could be the job for you!

Vice President (Education) 

You’ll strive to improve students’ academic experience and is passionate about education as a tool for personal development. The successful candidate would work to improve student welfare, and sit on the University’s most senior academic committee and agree policies that impact all students.

Are you passionate about helping students get the most out of their degree? This could be the job for you!

Vice President (Communities) 

You’ll support Union Communities members throughout the academic year, as well as promoting events and encouraging students to get involved. The successful candidate would work to improve student welfare, and work alongside the University to help develop a cohesive approach to all communities, aimed at increasing and encouraging engagement and ensure students have the best possible experience.
