Hey everyone! Welcome to one of the newly formed society: Alternative Society! We focus in anything outside the mainstream, whether that be things from Dad Rock to Hardcore to Scene/Crunk, we welcome anyone! Our committee and members are all diverse in what music they like so I will let them introduce themselves!

Hey everyone I'm Tony and I'm the president of AltSoc!! I love to talk about music, any genre, especially MCR and their unreleased album!! Can talk for days... When im not at university and working on my degree, I am either playing games, listening to music, sewing, even if i suck, or hanging out with friends! My favourite bands are MCR, Ghost and Linkin Park! I have seen them all live btw...hehehe I am a download 2026 (ferris wheel incident) survivor and soon to be a download 2027 enjoyer!!! Cant wait to meet you all!!
SECRETARY:
Howdy, I’m Jake.I have been described as liking DnD, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini, and Croquet. I’ve also been told that I can't swim, can't dance and don't know karate.Currently on the Foundation Pathways Program and hoping to progress onto Music Production.I’m a drummer and can often be found not practicing my rudiments (getting better). My favourite Artists are MCR, The Brobeck’s and Freddie Mercury. Looking forward to meeting and seeing you all.
PR OFFICER:
Taking on the role of PR Officer this year is Harry. When he isn’t busy writing, you can often find him listening to his favourite music, playing video games with friends or indulging in his other interests, from movies to Pro Wrestling. A huge MCR fan, the highlight of Harry’s summer was undoubtedly getting to see his favourite band at Wembley Stadium back in July. (He will never shut up about it!) A football journalism student with a passion for media, Harry will be bringing AltSoc’s social media to life this year!
EVENT SECRETARY:
Hi!! I’m neve!! I’m in my second year of the fine art course! I love art and music, and normally that’s all I’m doing!! I love Ethel Cain, Deftones and pierce the veil!! This is the most social I’ve ever been so bare with me :)
TREASURER:
Heyyy!! I’m Reece! I’m a first year student on the Music Performance course!!! Music is my passion, so much that i write my own music as a solo artist and for other bands as session work! When i’m not making music, I’m either attending a gig, playing games, or talking/socialising with friends! I love listening to Ozzy Osbourne, Pierce the Veil and MCR. I love doing maths and budgeting in my spare time so i will try my best to use that skill to help with the Alt Society :): Fun Fact: i was lucky enough to see Ozzy Osbourne live at the farewell gig “Back to the Beginning” in 2025!
Welcome into AltSoc and we can't wait to meet you!! We have our first event on halloween at peak! Can't wait to see you all!
