On Wednesday 21st October we held our Union Meeting – Funding Applications Special, where we implemented the change to bring community funding applications to Union Meetings for voting on. This change was voted through at the All Student Meeting that was held at the beginning of October.
As per the new funding process committee members from each community submitting a funding application must attend the meeting to present their bid and answer any questions. Twelve applications were received and six committee members attended on Wednesday to present their bids. All six applications were approved, with a breakdown below:
- Global Language Exchange - £800 - approved
- Asian Community - £450 - approved
- ForTheGirls - £350 - approved
- Congolese Community - £500 - approved
- Creative Arts - £170.44 - approved
- Radical Youth - £720 - approved
The remaining six applications, and any new applications, will go forward to the next Union Meeting that will be held on Monday 16th November at 4.00pm in the social space at One Friar Gate.
