about us

Our aim at the LGBTQ+ Society is to provide a safe and welcoming space for all University of Derby students who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual, queer and/or unsure/undecided, and for anyone who experiences any sort of homophobia, biphobia and/or transphobia.

What do we do?

Socials  //  Educational Talks // Trips

Over the year we will be hosting a variety of events both online and face-to-face, to help cater to everyone and ensure all members can get the most from the society.
We have lots of exciting events planned for this year, and below are just a few of what's in store for the society:

Introducing the committee members and our full plan for the year

A Disney themed night

Online pub quizzes

Regular talks to educate and discuss LGBTQ+ topics

An end of year ball

A trip to London Pride (more information to follow)

And so much more

We also hope to assist our members in their university experience, bring attention to the issues that they face LGBTQ+ related or not, and campaign to make the University better for everyone!
