American Football

The American Football club is regarded as one of the University’s top sports clubs. The club has a team of dedicated coaches who lead training sessions twice a week. 2012 saw the introduction of American Football into the BUCS leagues, and huge success for the Derby Braves who won their divisional league and reached the national championship semi-finals. The Braves currently compete in the BUCS Premier League North division playing against some of the best institutions in the country. Fixtures normally take place on a Sunday. The 2013/14 academic year saw the introduction of their women's flag and contact side where they finished 4th in the country.

Training sessions take place 2-3 times a week depending on fixtures. All training and home fixtures take place at the Universities main site on Kedleston Road.
