The University of Derby Cycling Club (UDCC) is both a competitive and recreational club catering for all disciplines and abilities within cycling.
The club has seen huge growth in the last couple of years and is now recognised as a performance sport by the Union of Students and Team Derby. Because of this, we receive additional funding for development such as: coaches, training sessions, strength and conditioning sesasion and race entry fees. The Club is seeking to continue to grow all aspects; in particular identifying and developing talent from amateur athletes.
We have access to university only track sessions at Derby Velodrome. Beginner track sessions run at the start of term and there are then accreditation sessions available weekly for the new track riders.
Social club rides meet on Sundays at 10 am throughout the year as well as training rides on Saturdays for the faster riders.
Mountain Bike and cx
We have recently formed a mountain bike committee who also run MTB, Downhill and Cyclocross social and training rides.
The club offers additional training to the performance squad who have had considerable success in 2017, and are set for an even bigger 2018/19.
