    Number 6 double deckers all day

    It would be beneficial for the number 6 bus to run all day as a double decker due to the smaller buses being: ? over crowded ? students arriving late to lectures Having double deckers all day will ensure all students are picked up from stops and not left to wait for another bus due to it being over crowded. This will also ensure students arrive to lectures on time.

5:42pm on 7 Nov 18 Deckers often can't be used all day as Notts and Derby have school contracts and other services in the area that use them (17/17A for example.) The overcrowding seems to arise after half past eight, and I find that before then, the buses have much more space.

9:50pm on 7 Nov 18 There were talks about installing double deckers this year, but it was discovered that in actuality, they don't actually take more people than a regular bus and this is why they did not go ahead with it. Scarlet Moss, VP education will be able to tell you more if needed, as I know she was involved with this :)

11:11am on 3 Apr 19 Hey! So, unfortunately, putting on double-deckers will not aid the busy schedule, as they can only hold a few more students than a regular bus, but they also take longer to load and complete the desired route. The Annual Bus Review meeting has recently taken place, at which I presented a 20 page paper entailing the student feedback we have collected over the past year. The outcome from this is that the University Estates department (responsible for the buses) are currently putting together a business case to apply for more funding for the bus service, so that going forward, the service can better serve the student body :-) VP Education
