I play for a bucs team, and on a Wednesday we have match but because I am scheduled in on my timetable from 5-7 I can't play majority of the matches and feel I am missing out on over uni experiences because of this

9:48pm on 7 Nov 18 I know that a lot of universities do not hold lectures on a Wednesday afternoon for this exact reason- so that those playing sports can actually take part in fixtures. I definitely know it's been done elsewhere and though I don't play sports, it would allow one day every week where societies can also hold activities and events and know more people can turn up!

11:25pm on 7 Nov 18 Wednesdays are great as they are often days without lectures. The degree is the reason for being here and if you struggle to do a sport and hold a position, remember they are both optional extras the Union offers. Wednesdays are used because it can ensure the most people are available for these meetings. If this is changed, I would struggle to fit the meetings into my schedule.

4:48pm on 8 Nov 18 It depends on what course you're on and how lecturers schedules are structured. I believe a lot of courses do aim to give students the Wednesday off for extra-curricular events and society/club events. Of course, it's all down to the big wigs who deal with all the timetabling, and of course, there are some instances where Wednesday has to be used for teaching due to clashes or availability. Maybe have a word with your module/course leader and see if there's anything they can do to help?
