Students are often contacted by the University if their attendance falls below a certain standard. This can cause stress and confusion with some students who are not sure how low/high their attendance to modules is. Many students I have spoke to feel like they would benefit from being able to view their attendance data online so they can monitor and manage their attendance before being notified from the University.

6:37pm on 19 Feb 19 I don’t see how this a problem that needs addressing? If you turn up for lectures and inform your lecturers of any abscence you have to take (I.e Medical appointments/travel delays/ circumstances beyond your control) then there should be no cause for concern. I can’t see how it would be beneficial for a student to monitor their own attendance if they’re actually putting effort into their degree. If, as a student, you are being warned about your attendance when you have a perfectly valid reason for being absent, then this is something you need to bring up with a head of department.

2:10pm on 6 Mar 19 It would be interesting to see what your attendance is never the less.

8:33am on 7 May 19 Hi all, this is something that the university is looking to implement going forward in the format of a student dashboard. Until that point, as Jake has suggested i would suggest checking in with your personal academic tutor to make sure your attendance is where you want it to be, and make sure you are informing the attendance monitoring team on attendance@derby.ac.uk and your program team. If you would like to be involved further with the student dashboard as it develops please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at vpwelfare@derbyunion.co.uk
