    Better Security at Ked Road!

    Some student's have begun to express concern over a lack of security at the Ked road campus. Barriers are often open, and not everyone's ID is checked. Larger luggage should always be checked, and perhaps spot checks should be introduced for backpacks. At the minute, it feels far too easy for anyone to enter the building- student or not.

11am on 26 Mar 19 I've honestly not seen the barriers freely left open and I've been here pretty late and early. I think security is better now than in the past. Spot checks would take up too much time of the security staff and the students so I personally don't see it as a viable option. How would spot checks be carried out and who would they 'target'? Seems like this could lead to discrimination/stereotyping and privacy issues. There may be better way to boost security but often it means you'll have to sacrifice your privacy which not everyone is willing to do.
