    Redeisgn the disabled access door - Entrance of the Ked Site

    The disabled access door has always been... interesting. Often both doors will not open but even if they do they open outwards, making the person have to maneuver around the door and near the stairs. Particually if you are in a wheelchair, this is quite dangerous. This is something I think needs urgent attention for the safety of our students.

8:28am on 25 Oct 19 Thank you for the comment regarding the main entrance at Kedleston Road, we agree this is challenging in terms of our main accessible entry point to the Campus. You may have already seen the new accessible ramp that was completed in time for ‘get-ahead’ week prior to teaching, alongside this we already have in hand the replacement of the doors either side of the revolving door. In place of the outward-opening doors at the top of the ramp we will be installing bi-fold doors over the weekend of the 16th & 17th of November. Access will be greatly improved for everyone who does not use the revolving door. Thanks for your comment, please keep the good ideas coming!

6:25am on 22 Nov 19 What would be good is if disabled students got priority over the door! The new door is working and I still struggle with students barging at me!
