While all other universities in the UK meet students halfway and show commitment by charging a small sum known as a writing up fee (ranging from £100 - £500), Derby Uni charges students 50% of their regular full time fee (over £6000 for international students). A lot of research students have expressed dissatisfaction with this, as delays have come from slow equipment/computer ordering times, and lack of 24-hour access to research labs. We ask that the Uni introduce affordable write up fees.
