2:51pm on 27 Jul 20 Completely agree with this! Finishing a degree is a massive achievement and we should be able to celebrate in person even if it means having the ceremony next year or the following year when it’s safe to do so. I would not be happy having a virtual graduation.

3:13pm on 27 Jul 20 I agree. Four years I've been at Uni. A virtual graduation just isn't the same. It's a right of passage to graduate. Also when do we get our actual certificates. Nit just the e cert. J.C BA Fine art

3:23pm on 27 Jul 20 We have all put a lot of time and effort in to reaching the end of degree, not to mention the amount we have to pay for the degree. I think it is only right that all students get to spend their graduation in a cap and gown with the family members they love. If that means postponing it until further notice when it is safe I believe that is what we should do.

3:27pm on 27 Jul 20 Good point to be raised; with me being in first year after the year we have had I believe that this should be a huge celebration at the end of everyone's degrees whether it is when it "should be" or in the future! :) Hope this works out for you all x

11:44pm on 27 Jul 20 Completely agree. We’ve all worked so hard especially more so in these difficult times to reach the end of our degrees to merely have a virtual graduation would be devastating. Even if it’s in 1 years time when it’s safe to do so would be better than virtual. It would be unfair for us to be the only year to miss out on wearing our caps and gowns and having memories and photographs that last a lifetime.

11:35am on 28 Jul 20 Hi, thank you for raising this; however, there seems to be a misunderstanding. The virtual graduation is not instead of the standard graduation. An in person graduation will take place as soon as it is safe to bring large numbers of individuals together, as lockdown continuously eases, please keep checking your animal as they will confirm the date as soon as they are able, with safety being the main priority. The University thought it was important to still recognise student achievements and therefore the virtual celebration event is there as an interim recognition and celebration of all students graduating. We will be posting some material which explains the 2 different events, so please follow us on our socials to stay up to date with this, but there will definitely come a time when you will be invited to a physical graduation. Hope this helps. Corey, Union President

12:28pm on 28 Jul 20 Completely agree. But hopefully once things are safe we will have that chance to walk across the stage ??

10:37am on 4 Aug 20 Thanks Corey, we are due to have our graduation in November and not summer, unsure if that makes any difference

midnight on 24 Sep 20 I agree. Everyone deserves that special moment, and the current final year students should get it.
