North Tower Disabled Access Lift - Ramps so people can use larger lift

    Expired
    • Accessibility
The north tower 'disabled access' lift is anything but accessible. I understand redesigning a lift will take a lot of time and money so I propose we install ramps on the few stairs that stop people who require the use of wheelchairs from using the large lift. This will be a lot cheaper yet enable students to be able to get to their north tower lectures with ease, rather than stress or missing lectures completely.

10:27am on 5 Dec 19 Hi Sammie, Thank you for your idea on our Ideas Forum! I can confirm that the North Tower lift is being rotated so the lift is bigger and can allow people who have accessibility needs, particularly those in wheelchairs, more room but also room for a carer/friend to travel with them. Sadly ramps wouldn't work because of how steep the stairs are. But they will be working on the lift very soon to make it bigger and an actual accessible lift! Dani :)
