Hi I’m Louis and I’m standing for secretary for Musician and Band.
I’m currently a third year Biomedical science student so I’m working on my independent study project. This means I’m planning the project, ensuring all the necessary health and safely paperwork is completed, and my schedules don’t clash due to me needing to be in the lab for this project. These skills that I’ve developed will assist me in making sure all necessary paperwork for open mic nights and gigs are completed and ensuring that rooms are booked ahead of time for sessions and practice time for members.
I’m naturally a very organised person individual and I’ve never missed a single deadline for coursework while I’ve been at the university so I can guarantee all paper will be competed in the same fashion to allow all members to have as many opportunities to perform as possible. I work well in a team and can handle sitting in meetings to discuss a range of topics. This stems from work experience within a secondary school where I’m having to prepare and plan class and also make sure all the needs of each student are met and I will also have needed to attend many meetings within the school to ensure that I’ve been briefed on what’s going on within the department too. I’m also a program rep for my course which also encase my communication skills and team working skills too.
This year I want to help build a solid foundation for the society as it’s a new society but also to make things easier for the coming years. I’m passionate about music as I’ve been playing the piano for over a decade and have been in acapella groups and also choirs too. I want to be able to allow as many gigs and open mic nights for current members to allow them to their own names out into the world of music but also to allow them to experience the joy of performing live for those who have yet to be able to do so.
