My Manifesto
Greetings, fellow international students of the University of Derby!

I am Sujith Stalin, and I am excited to be your International Student Officer candidate. As an international student myself, I understand the unique challenges we face, and I am committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive community for each one of you.

Holding a background in Marketing with a Pursuit of stepping out of my comfort zone, be it through traveling and meeting new people, I am determined to amplify the voices of international students, ensuring our diverse perspectives are heard and valued.

I also play for the Derby Men's 2nd Volleyball Team and make sure I am part of various cultural events at the university.
My primary goals are centred around creating a supportive, inclusive, and enriching environment for all international students.
Below are ways in which I would love our community to grow :

Celebrating our Backgrounds: Organizing events and campaigns that celebrate our rich diversity, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among all.

Mental Health and Well-being: Prioritizing mental health initiatives that address the specific challenges faced by international students. We all get homesick, don't we?

Accessible Information: Ensure that you all have easy access to information regarding visas, work permits, housing, and other essential matters such as where can I get a good hearty meal?

Managing the Cultural Shock and ways to avoid Social isolation are important topics that will be addressed as well.

All the above ways of fostering international students are just a few of them, more and more ideas are to be heard from you people!

Your vote is not just for me but for a vision of unity, diversity, and positive change. I am eager to serve you as the international student officer and bring our collective aspirations to life. "There's no such thing as a vote that doesn't matter."
