My commitment is evident in organizing events for LGBTQ+, International Students, and Students with Disabilities, fostering community and belonging. If elected, I'm dedicated to tirelessly enhancing the student experience, making Derby University more inclusive and supportive for all. Thank you for considering my candidacy.
As Vice President (Welfare) at the University of Derby, my overarching goal is to champion a campus environment where every student feels supported and truly heard. As a Master of Public Health student deeply passionate about equality, my primary focus is on enhancing the overall well-being of our diverse student body.

I aim to leverage my comprehensive understanding of student challenges to initiate and advocate for policies that address their unique needs. By actively participating in the university's senior equality committees, I aspire to contribute to shaping policies that foster inclusivity and ensure that our institution remains a welcoming space for students from all walks of life.

Moreover, I am committed to raising awareness of support services available on campus, ensuring that every student is informed and can access the resources they need. Effective communication and collaboration with different stakeholders will be paramount in achieving this, and I am eager to utilize my leadership skills to facilitate this process.

One of my key objectives is organizing events that celebrate and promote diversity. These events, catering to specific demographics such as LGBTQ+, International Students, and Students with Disabilities, highlight our university's commitment to inclusivity and create a sense of community and belonging.

Additionally, I aim to establish new initiatives prioritising mental health and well-being, recognizing the importance of holistic support for students. By working closely with existing support services and advocating for additional resources, I intend to contribute to a campus culture that prioritizes every student's mental and emotional well-being.

In summary, my vision for the role of Vice President (Welfare) at the University of Derby is centred around creating a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant campus where every student can thrive. Through policy advocacy, effective communication, and the organization of diverse events, I am committed to making a lasting impact on the well-being of our university community. If given the opportunity, I am determined to work tirelessly to achieve these goals and make the University of Derby an even more exceptional and inclusive institution for everyone.
