My Manifesto
Hi, I’m Tiana, and I am running to be one of your Sports Councillors for next year. I am currently in my 3rd year and going into my master’s in Applied Sport Science next year. I am currently the President of Rounders as well as one of your Sports Councillors.

From being on Sports Council this year I have had the opportunity to interact with many students and be involved with a variety of events over the past year. The experience I have gained within the role allowed me to have a better understanding of the challenges clubs and students face throughout the year.
Being a Sports Councillor this year I have helped the Sport’s Council achieve; introducing BUCS takeover on the Unions social media, involving interviews with players and students and promoting events happening each week, furthermore improving the Sports Council’s social media promoting and informing students of upcoming sporting events as well as game scores, increasing engagement from students and lastly, I have been involved with multiple events during the year such as charity events run by clubs, give it a go’s, Union events and Sports Council run events.

Having been a member of a committee for the past two years as part of Rounders, being Treasurer and President, I have a good understanding of how clubs are run and have a good relationship with the Union. With my experience, I’d like to believe I am a good candidate for this role and will successfully achieve my aims for next year. My manifesto points are; firstly, to raise smaller club’s profiles which will help increase membership numbers and create more opportunities to promote clubs, secondly, to improve inter-club relationships by providing opportunities for clubs to interact with each other creating a better and safer environment here at the University and thirdly to be a voice for all clubs helping to relay information, and feedback from clubs to the VP activities and the Union to improve the sport here at Derby, as well as the relationship between the union and clubs.

Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto and I hope you all consider me for one of your Sports Councillors next year!
