Candidate for the position of American Football - Publicity Officer
Reinis Dobelnieks
Who I am:
My name is Reinis Dobelnieks and I am nominating myself for the publicity officer position on the 25/26 committee.
I've been playing American football since I first came to university here in 2023 and have enjoyed every moment of it.
I've been very passionate about the sports since I joined and I have fully immersed myself in its culture.
I am a very creative individual who understands social media, content creation, what attracts views, and how to garner attention.
Why I Should Be the Social Media Manager:
-
As someone actively involved in the sport, I understand the team’s dynamic and have the skills to represent it authentically on social media platforms.
-
I am very enthusiastic and knowledgable on social media, which equips me to create engaging content that will boost the team’s popularity and visibility within the university and outside of it.
-
I am familiar with trends on Instagram and TikTok, ensuring the team stays relevant and uploads fresh content.
What I Would Bring to the Position:
-
Create and post high-quality, up to date, graphics weekly, if not daily.
-
Create a new identity for the Braves on social media and increase our presence on social media.
-
Employ a photographer at all home and away games, and occasional practice sessions, our friend Omega Mavaku.
-
Have a sideline videographer at our games, capturing the best clips of the game to be posted on all social media platforms.
-
Create highlights for players and upload match highlights. Also, create behind-the-scenes content, including tik tok trends or micing up a player during practice or warm ups.
-
Make sure all players with exceptional performances get their shine, recieving their own social media content, including their statistics from their performance.
-
Consistent updates on upcoming games, events, and news to keep our supporters and friends informed and involved in all our eandevours.
This manifesto represents my dedication to the Braves family and my belief in the power of social media to elevate its presence, engage with other sports teams and students, and celebrate the sport of American football. You can trust me that I WILL change the image of the Derby Braves on social media in a positive way and make sure everyone knows what we are about.
Reinis 'doublenecks' Dobelnieks.
