Why Am I Running?
To my teammates,
It’s with great excitement and commitment that I announce my candidacy for Vice President of Derby Braves American Football Team. Our sport has the potential to achieve extraordinary things, and I am determined to lead us toward new victories, both on and off the field.
From being on the committee this year as well-being officer I have worked with current vice-president and current president helping develop this club and keep it progressing to limits unknown. I want to be able help lead this club into the right direction by implenting the right things after playing this sport for the short time I have learnt a lot about this sport on the how to run a team, from watching what teams fail on and what teams succeed on. With this as someone who has studied in sport development before coming to university and currently studying sport coaching at university, I have gained the skills and mindset to help develop this team alongside the president, committee and coaches.
What I Aim To Achieve...
- Priotizing Player Development and Well-being - The heart of our team is our players. As Vice President, I will work to ensure every player has access to the best training, mentorship, and resources to reach their full potential. This includes not only athletic development but also mental health support, academic resources, and career opportunities after University. Player development on the pitch I want to do this by working closely with the head coach and positional coaches to ensure that they are getting the right nessacities that they need to help develop the players to reaching their full potential.
- Sustainable Success and Future Growth - Looking ahead, I want to ensure that our sport is heading in the right a direction after achieving one of goals of securing promotion back to division 1 and in-progress goal win the playoff final. I want to make sure heading back into division 1 we stay sustainable and keep our aims and objectives high. I want to do this focusing on recruitment with the future committee and especially the future president.
- A United Team and Committee - After being on the committee this past year we were united and had a great higher ups of the team which lead to greatness of a season for this team I want us to go beyond and above for this but we do it together. If the committee are together and committed we can lead this team to great success and the same goes for the team we play for one another as a brotherhood.
- Working With Other Sports - I want to have strong bond with other teams around the university so we can have the support going into each game of the season I want to do this by for startes working with social sec and to also be turning up to other teams games on a bucs wednesday and showing the support.
