Charlotte Harrison-Wear
Buxton Chair
Hi, my name is Charlotte and I am currently a second year Events Management student based at the Buxton Campus.
I am passionate about ensuring that all Buxton students are represented and have the same opportunities and experiences as students studying at other campuses do.
Therefore, I have decided to run for the role of Buxton Chair in the elections. If elected I have formulated three main points that I would like to achieve whilst in the role.
1. Facilities
- Ensure that Buxton students have access to all facilities throughout the move to Derby such as Student Wellbeing, Careers and Employment and the Student Union. This will allow students to maintain high experience levels throughout their time in Buxton.
2. Clubs and Societies
- Ensure that all students continue to have access to clubs and societies. I want to ensure that all Buxton Clubs and Societies are represented and have access to funding and support to allow their continuation throughout the move to Derby.
3. Student Wellbeing / Mental Health
- Ensure that every student can access student wellbeing services and are aware of local mental health services to ensure that every student is looked after and feels safe at University. I will also continue to promote mental health awareness which is being done by our current Buxton Chair.
I am currently the Part Time Higher Education officer for Buxton. Within this role I have attended student experience meetings, education council meetings and the student summit to ensure that all students are receiving the highest quality teaching and experience. I also am President of the Events Society as well as a student ambassador. I want to use my experience from these roles to enchance the Student Union services offered at the Buxton Campus.
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me : bux.he@derbyunion.co.uk
