Dominic White

Hello, my name is Dominic White and I am standing for re-election to the post of part-time officer for humanities and journalism.

Having served as a cource representative for several years, for two different courses and now serving as your part-time officer for the last year, I have gained a deep appreciation of the power and need for the student voice within our university. As your part-time officer, I want to continue to further and build upon the goals of you our students, and to represent your views at the highest levels of our university whilst helping to lead changes.

This year has been difficult for everyone in one way or another, I also struggle still and have found it difficult to adapt to our new virtual way of doing things, but the past year has opened my eyes and prepared me for the new year ahead, there’s so much I have learned from the past year and new things I would like to try, to engage with you our students, and revitalise the amazing resource that is your student representatives!!

My aims if re-elected are...

1. To take a particular focus

on student representative engagement, working with the student’s union and the student reps to further engagement across the college.

2. To try and create a new platform / forum for the student voice to be heard and to work with fellow part-time officers, student reps and the student’s union to promote and highlight existing forums for delivering valuable feedback.

3. To continue to host student and student rep drop-in sessions and work upon diversifying engagement through new virtual means and to continue to build upon the previous years feedback to enact student driven change.

Thank you for Voting !!!!
