I have three points I would make as part of my manifesto:
1) My key objective will be to find a way to listen to the thoughts and concerns of part time students and ensure their experience is reflected within the feedback the university receives.
2) I will engage with the student reps and with the full time officers, seeking to understand where there may be areas of resource or communication that part time students are currently missing or unable to fully utilise, and then work on ways to make them more available. For this I will lean on my experience as both a manager and as an online student.
3) I will look to put in place a method (or methods) of communication with part time students, using polling and research to identify the way(s) that make(s) giving feedback as easy and quick as possible. We all have complex busy lives, giving feedback should be as small a chore as we can make it. If this goes well then I hope it will be a legacy for future officers.
